Surprise Trip to Spain

My husband has sprung a surprise visit to Spain on me, in honour of Valentine’s Day and our 5th Wedding Anniversary, albeit that this is not until August! 

So next week we are off to Santa Susanna, on the Costa Brava for the short break.  He even went to the extent of arranging the child care courtesy of my mum, which was lovely of them to get together to arrange.

Spain has been lodged firmly in my heart since my first visit way back in 2000, when I took my son Matthew and we spent many an hour wandering the street of Rhonda and the wilds of Andalucia, taking in some of the most beautiful sights that I have ever seen in and around the mountains.  I quite often felt that I had left my heart there, although I do still find it heartwarming to return home to the South Coast of England.

Maybe one day I will have a second home there but will I ever live there?  We must wait and see, but for now I return to my work and my life with my husband and my children and always look forward to the day, as I think we all do, where we dreams of retirement and calm days without the endless stream of tasks, jobs and the rush that life takes us on sometimes.
