This is the answer to a question posted by Jennifer on Love Web Design’s Facebook page.
Login to your facebook page
In the search bar at the top centre, type the word “twitter“,
You will be presented with a predictive list, the result you are looking for is Twitter, with App written underneath.
Once selected you may receive a message that asks you to wait while you are redirected.
A page will then display that asks you if you wish to Allow or Deny Twitter access to Facebook.
If you have not already set this up, you will be asked for your Twitter username and asked to set other preferences.
Set as required and follow the prompts.
Now you are set to go!

I started to use Tweetdeck over a year ago, the first thing I found was that the pop up alerts annoyed the heck out of me. Being a newbie to the program I hadn’t got a clue how to alter them of turn them off, but also being a “meddler” or a “tweaker” of settings off I went to explore the program and see if I could actually turn the darn things off!
The Settings Window:
Go to Settings in the top right section of the window (this is indicated by a spanner/wrench), this will present you with a window like this:
For today’s purpose, you will see that the image above has the Notifications tab highlighted, showing the Notifications window.
In the Top Left of this pane, you find the Notification windows section. This is the annoying bit for most people. The instruction set below gives you the information you need to switch these off.
Turning Notifications Off Completely:
- Go to Settings in the top right section of the window (indicated by a spanner/wrench)
- Then go to Notifications
- Turn Detail on to Detail Off by simply clicking on the words
- Turn Summary on to Summary off by clicking on the words
- Click to Save Settings
In the Top Right section of the Window, is the Notification Window position in which the Notifications appear. You can move them to your preferred space on your screen.
In this section you can also adjust the sound level for the alerts. You can see from the image above that I have mine set to 0%. This is so I do not have the mute my PC and the continuous “bleep” does not annoy me any more!
The next section down deals with frequency. Currently this window shows 30seconds before the next set of summaries will be shown.
The next section is shown in Expanded View. I am told that most will only view the Advanced options for columns and will have to click on this line to expand it. I believe I expanded mine a while ago and it has remained like this ever since!
If you have multiple columns, this is where you will select your individual preferences for those columns.
At present, I have Details switched off (as shown in the top left section), which is why the Detail column under Advanced Options is greyed out.
You will also see that all Alerts on all columns are turned off.

I have been researching numerous topics this evening for my newest articles and twitter tips and along the way I have discovered some truly fantastic articles.
I have read social media topics statistics that have actually surprised me, read about upgrades that to be perfectly honest 10 years ago I hadn’t even considered in technology and yet I set here gazing out on to a sunny but pleasant May evening wondering to myself what is social media about?
What do you use social media profiles for?
We like to use ours to share our knowledge with others? It pull lots of information in to one central place. Ask us a question anywhere and we will always try to answer it, if we can.
Do you track your profiles?
Do you actively track what comes from where? how many? do you use separate codes for each profile?
we have separate “sales funnels” for each.
What do they bring to your business?
They bring knowledge to ours and fantastic conversations with people I would never have spoken to before purely because they are not in this country!
I would love it if someone would feedback how much business they get from their social media profiles?
Does anyone track their profiles and how do you do that?
It would be great to have some comments and feedback on this subject. It is generally a well kept secret, but everybody is or isn’t doing it. I hope you will join the conversation, Sarah.
Watermarks always look that little extra don’t they?
I was asked this week how to add them to Word Documents, and in writing this, I thought I would publish it here for anyone that needs it. It has been written for Microsoft Word 2007.
Although some of the toolbars and buttons vary in general if you are a MS Word user you will be able to locate these functions easily in most versions of Word.
I will assume, rightly or wrongly that you are opening word in Print Layout or Normal View.
- Go to Page Layout, select Watermark and then select Custom Watermark from the dropdown selection.
- Select the type of watermark you would like a) image or b) text
- Then set your options accordingly.
Note:
- Washout = makes the image wash out!
- Scale = changes the size of the image to fit.
- Language, Text, Font & Size speak for themselves
- Semitransparent ensures that the image does not interfere with the text that will go over the top, although you do still have to be aware of some colours. Do print at least one copy to see what it looks like.
- Diagonal and horizontal are also options to be chosen here.
Once this is done, you can select Apply at any time to apply your settings and view the page behind the window. Alternatively click Okay and the window will apply your settings and your watermark takes effect.

This is a Quick Start Guide on how to create you Facebook Business Page.
Selecting Your Business Type:
This is your first task. The Business Typoe you select will determine the features for your page and you are not able to change it once it is set. You will have to delete and restart the page.
Categories are:
- Local Business or Place
- Company, Organisation or Institution
- Brand or Product
- Artist, Band or Public Figure
- Entertainment
- Cause or Community
You should be able to select the most appropriate one from that list, although some of these categories have sub-categories which are slighter harder to select from, have a think about them before you make you final selection.
You will then be asked to complete the required business information and will be asked to agree to the Facebook pages Terms of Service. Once this is complete you can Get Started.
To keep your new page hidden until you have finished setting it up:
- Click Edit Page.
- Click Manage Permissions.
- At Page Visibility, check only admins can see this page checkbox.
- Click Save Changes
You can now go ahead and add your logo, remember that you only have a set size for the logo and that Facebook will use a square portion of your main image as a thumbnail image, this will appear next to each post.
Add a brief description of your business. This is approximately 85 characters and will appewar in the About heading in the left hand column just below the profile picture.
Click Edit Page, top right. This will display Facebook’s settings and information options for the page.
For maximum community interaction, select Wall Tab Shows – All Posts and also check all Posting Ability options.
At the Moderation Blocklist setting you can select Profanity Blocklists. (These should be pretty self-explanatory, but if not drop us an email).
At this point you will be asked to Save any Changes you have made.
You can then move on to complate any Basic Information, Add a Profile Picture, Edit your Thumbnail, Preview and then Publish your Page.
Once this is done as I recall, Facebook will then return you to your wall ready for your first post.
HINTS & TIPS:
- There are no Privacy Settings on a Business Page. Businesses are Public.
- You can restrict access to your page by age.
- Complete your Business Page, BEFORE you publish it, this way you can Launch your Page using a social media strategy.
